Economic Empowerment is alive and well!

It's been a year since John and Maggie Anderson embarked on a controversial adventure in empowerment to spend their money exclusively with African-American businesses in 2009.  The Andersons estimated that they spent about 70 percent of their dollars, or slightly less than $70,000, with black-owned businesses in 2009. This year, they are pushing the experiment into what Maggie Anderson called "movement mode."

The Empowerment Experiment has been a one year journey in economic empowerment to demonstrat the power of supporting Black businesses.  Over the course of that year, they have shared their message of empowerment all over the country.
