Travel Education and Services!
When you need straight answers and help with your travel!Working on something new!
Okay, I know it has been a while since I have posted. I just want to catch up with you on my “travel” journey, and let you know what is up next.
- I left YTB
- I am working on getting certification through the Travel Institute.
- I am working on building my own travel site…to offer many great opportunities for my clients.
- I am putting in place everything God taught me; obtain wisdom!
My life has made a drastic change; the only way to offer great services is to get in the right mind. YTB wasn’t helping me at the time. I don’t regret getting started with them. I regret not using my OWN resources. Be blessed everyone..it won’t be forever before you hear from me.
Do you like to travel? What is stopping you from………….
Making money from something you like?
Okay the traveled101 is not about promoting my business, but this a question I have had on my mind and I want to take this to the next level for all those that don’t want to get a second job, outside the home. It is time to take charge of your life and do what you like; travel and sell travel stores/services.
I have been working with YTB for almost a year. My learning curve has broadened because of the travel knowledge I need to obtain. It’s funny how something that is so good for people will get very negative feedback from the industry. Anyway long story short, I joined YTB because the founder was a minister and his daily life is built on God’s principles. Regardless of how much money I make or don’t make, I will stay with YTB as long as I can.
I’m sharing an opportunity with you that is very different than the common direct sales mumbo jumbo. I am sharing with you a chance to get involved with an organization that will never fail you when you need answers and will always be available for what you need. YTB is not perfect; no man or woman is…but it is a great business to start if you like to Travel.
YES YES there is an initial investment..if you can’t afford the investment sign up as a rep only…but you have to work it..once you work it as a rep, you will get the motivation to sign up as a Referral Travel Agent. (RTA) I must say that the money is in the RTA part of the business. But the learning is in everything.
What do you want to do the rest of your life? Make money for you, or make money for someone else? If you stay in a 9-5 you will be making money for someone else for the rest of your life; most times after retirement. Some of you might want to stay in those jobs just to keep the job security. That’s fine; matter of fact, from the mouth of my husband: That’s great. If you want to supplement that income come work with me. Join my team of travel associates and become a travel professional. (in my next post, I will tell you how to keep learning as a travel professional)
No, it’s not a pyramid scheme. Whether you sign up or not, I’m going to make my money from my travel business from those that travel; from those that want to buy a smaller car in this gas guzzling economy; from those that buy event or sporting event tickets, etc. I will still make money…I just want to share the opportunity with you.
http://www.faithtravel4u.com is my web site…check out the video about the business, email me with any questions.
In about two months, I will host travel parties online that will all new people that join under me get a good understanding of the business.
The convention/conference is coming up the 1st weekend in August and I would love to “see” you attend. I will not be there physically, but I will be there in spirit supporting my team!
My Field trip to Florida w/4th, 5th and 6th graders!
This is a brief commentary on my experience with the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of Holy Redeemer Christian Academy field trip to Florida; as the parental chaperone.
It was marvelous! The teachers did a wonderful job putting this field trip together. They left nothing out and no idle time for the young minds. I really believe the children appreciated their time away from Milwaukee.
Some of the children had never rode on an airplane, my son being one of them. It was ’screaming’ in the way up and on the way down! :)) So funny.
The teachers had booked vacation homes for us; 4 bedrooms each, full kitchen, living and dining rooms two full baths, and an enclosed swimming pool at each house. Each morning, in our house, we had devotion, and everyday on the bus we had devotion together.
On Wednesday morning we went to a Christian academy that a former member of our church now teaches at. Let me say, that I was blown away by how the children learn. The students that exceling by leaps and bounds don’t watch any t.v. or limit their watching and don’t care; shoot they aren’t missing anything!
It was wonderful! I was with the 4th graders; they stood up to give their answers, they were respectful as kids can be to each other. Gave me something to share with administration when I go back (oh wait, this is the parental part) Gives me something to think about doing differently with my boys since they are still in school.
In the afternoon, we took the kids to downtown disney, they had a great time there, spending money! My son, as well as a few other children, had a characture(sp) done. They spent time at the lego and disney store. We ate dinner at planet Hollywood and that was VERY EXCITING. To see the old movies, new movies, and videos that were kid friendly was awesome! The displays of movie characters was great, especially for us adults trying to figure out what was what.
On thursday, we went to disney world; magic kingdom. I can’t explain how elated I was that my son got to go, and how appreciative all the children were. Both parades were exciting. The rides (let me say here, I don’t ride rides but……..) were kid friendly and I rode on a few. Didn’t have a heart attack, didn’t die! :)) I almost lost my group at the night parade and I was about to lose it then….but God is good and was with us the entire time.
On Friday, our last day, we went to the Holy Land Experience. It was great! I can’t even express into words how it was. I saw the crucifixtion remake and I………well words can’t explain. The people there would pray for you, talk with you and ministered to the children intensely! We thought that children woudn’t appreciate the holy land experience as the adults would..but when we got to the airport, the older boys were having a conversation about endtimes and salvation that was captivating. It showed that they their minds were on what will happen next for them and what they have to do to prepare for it. The entire trip was great. Even though kids will be kids, I will do it all over again.
I am sharing this here because it takes a lot to plan a fun ‘filled’ vacation for 4-6th graders! These women are good at what they do as teachers and unpaid travel professionals.
What it’s worth!
There are times when I am working on my travel business that I don’t know what it’s worth to me. I spent the initial investment to get involved with a travel business that I think is effective for me and what I want to do. I am not making millions and milllions of dollars, but I am effective in getting the word out.
I believe this is the year that will determine if the travel industry is for me in this perspective. I am not one to continuously attempt to build an MLM ( I also was a candle consultant) unless the timing and opportunity are right.
Well this opportunity is right and the initail investment is pennies compared to what you can obtain after joining. I can’t say I get big discounts or make 1000’s in the first 30 days; that would depend on you on the time you have to WORK it! I have obtained many certifications and specialists trainings. I receive online information about the industry and take online classes to continue to learn more. For what it’s worth, you have to know the industry in order to sell travel and sell the travel business.
The people that started this business are those that pray first and act second. It takes people that are spiritually connected to help others effectively! I would love to talk to any of you that are interested in the business or who want to book travel with me. My character illuminates in all of my businesses. It’s worth your time to check it out.

Fantasy Vacation
There are times when we travel that we have to know what we want, when, where, and why!
I have a fantasy vacation that will start in Nassau, Bahamas, and end at the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island. I have visited there before and want to go back to rekindle the romance and see my vision in a different light.
(whoa! what did she say?)
I said I want to rekindle the romance, which means, I want to go back and pick up the love I lost with my then boyfriend, now husband.
I have a vision for my businesses that I know I can see again from a different part of the world.
It’s funny, but this is my fantasy vacation. This is the vacation I believe will help me help my husband see who I am. After so many years of being together, it will take a vacation to allow me the time for him to see.
So, share with me your fantasy vacation; comment here. Is there a vision you see in your mind that you want to come to reality? Share it with me and maybe I can help you!
You should have a rate for everthing!
Before I started in my own travel business, I would make as many phone calls to travel agents to get rates, dates, etc. I hated to do it, because I knew my husband wouldn’t like any of the rates or dates and etc’s that I found. I felt like I was wasting the agents valuable time. I realized today why I felt that way.
Every-time I look up a vacation, a car rental, a flight, a dog catcher on my travel site, it costs me money to use my internet, my phone lines, my valuable time. The client never becomes a client and my time has been wasted. This has happened twice in 5 days.
I have discovered, that, if you can’t tell a prospective client that their flight and their millionaires vacation to Las Vegas is basically FREE, they don’t want to deal with you. Yet, in the end they pay the same price with someone else. I always thought time will tell about all things in life and this bit of time did tell for me.
That is why I am sharing with you, YOU SHOULD HAVE A RATE FOR EVERYTHING, or let them web search on their own! With the latter, it is easier to not know you COULD have helped than to know you tried your hardest and the client wasn’t satisfied.
Having a rate for all of your services is the best for you. You can help everyone until you are blue in the face, but even the bible says you can talk yourself into the poor house (not those exact words, but it is in Proverbs).
Charging a upfront consultant fee, at the least, covers your internet costs and time. Especially if you are a home business travel agent; you can’t afford to waste time on someone or something that will not profit you later.
See you next time for “What it’s worth.” , a conversation about what to charge for FEES!
What the client wants vs. what they need!
As a specialist in my fields (event planning and travel), I have learned that what the client needs is better than what the client wants. Yet, what is going to bring me more client referrals? What the client wants mixed with good customer service.
I can’t ask my clients to book their travel with me if I can’t get them to where they want to go. As a professional, I am to provide for them all the information beneficial for a successful trip:
-
Great rates
-
Passport information
-
Best hotel
-
Good food
-
Shopping
-
Excursions
-
Travel Insurance
As I know I need referrals, I know that my client deserves the best! It takes time to build a good relation with clients, so it’s best to start from somewhere. (with them!)
