Malcolm X

El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, A.K.A. Malcolm X, Was Born On May 19, 1925.

Born Malcolm Little, The Former Drug Dealer, Thief And Convict Converted To The Islamic Faith While In Prison. He Would Become The Black Muslims' Most Eloquent Prominent And Controversial Spokesman During The 1950's And 1960's.

His Messages Of "Black Self-Reliance" And Justice Without Compromise Made Him A Symbol Of The Black Revolution Of The Early And Mid 1960's.

He Was Read Out Of The Black Muslims After Describing The Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy As " Chickens Coming Home To Roost." He Formed The Organization Of Afro-American Unity (OAAU) Only One Year Before His Death.

On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X Was Assassinated While Speaking At A Rally Of The OAAU, At The Audubon Ballroom In New York City.

With The Assistance Of Author, Alex Haley, Malcolm Wrote His Best-Selling Autobiography. Convinced That He Would Die Young And Violently--- He Correctly Prophesized That He Would Never See The Book In Print.
