Black America's problems are SELF INFLICTEDPosted by gcuse03champs in Untagged |
In light of the recent beating I have been taking since I suggested that the NJ National Guard should be asked into NJ I have decided to repost one of my older poems/videos about the issues in the African American Community and about how many of our problems are self inflicted, You can view it by clicking the link below:

You may feel like you have taken a beating for recommending that Cory Booker bring in the National Guard, but that is not the case. You are closer to the answer by asking "Have we lost our voice?"
The answer lies in the frustration that comes from trying to live a lie. You see we have been lied to from the beginning of this country.
All men created equal -- a lie.
Whites are smarter -- a lie.
Blacks are inferior -- a lie
Inalienable rights -- a lie.
Justice -- a lie.
Equal education -- a lie.
Equal job opportunity -- a lie.
These lies we have had to live with are not self-inflicted. But the self-destructive psyche that results from frustrated attempts to gain a piece of the American pie is self-inflicted. Our anger has been contained and directed inward toward our own.
We already live in a police state. The police don't allow this violence to penetrate the quiet and safe streets of the suburbs. No mixed use housing here. No unwanted neighbors. Keep the underclass bottled up in their frustration and they will turn on themselves. No education; no jobs; no families. A formula for destructive community psychosis.
We are the only role models that can save us from self-destruction. Sadly, the Black community at large has lost its identity along with its voice. We should thank the Cory Bookers and Barack Obamas and Ray Nagins for their willingness to leave the comfort of suburban lives, and just trying to make a difference. If more of the "successful Black citizens" would join the effort to save the neighborhoods they abandoned, there would be hope.
Not only have we lost our identity and our voice. We have lost our hope for a better tomorrow.
