The Thirteenth Amendment To The U.S. Constitution:
On January 31, 1865, The House Of Representatives Passed The Thirteenth Amendment To The U.S. Constitution, By A Narrow Margin, With 11 Democrats Defecting To The Republican Side To Vote Yes.The Amendment Had Already Passed In The Senate, On April 8, 1864.
The Amendment Reads:
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime where of the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

This case really upsets me because Christina a black girl went missing on December 28, 2007 in Quenns NY while visiting from Massachusetts and there has been no news on this. Can you imagine the news frenzy there would be if a 16 year old white girl went missing in Queens New York?
Christina Chery was last seen wearing a black sweater, blue jeans, black jacket and black boots. She is from Everett, MA but was last seen visiting a family friend in Queens, NY. Her nickname is "CC". You can learn more here:

Joseph L. Searles III Became The First Black American Proposed As A Seat Holder On The New York Stock Exchange, On January 30, 1970.
The NYSE Is The Country's Top Securities Market. Only Seat Holders Can Buy And Sell On The Floor.
Searles Took One Of Three Seats Belonging To Newburger, Loeb & Co., As Well As Became A General Partner In The Firm. However, Because Of A Downturn In The Market, Searles Would Have To Relinquish His Seat In Less Than A Year.

On January 29, 1926, Violette Neatly Anderson Became The First Black Woman To Practice Law Before The United States Supreme Court.
Anderson Graduated From The University Of Chicago Law School In 1920, When She Was Nearly 40 Years Old And She Was The First Black Woman To Practice Law In The State Of Illinois.
She Served On The Executive Board Of The Chicago Council Of Social Agencies And Was President Of The Friendly Big Sister's League Of Chicago.
She Was In Her Mid Fifties, When She Died In 1937.
