When the first Gulf War began, thanks to CNN, many ordinary citizens became familiar with a new weapon called the Cruise Missile. The newscasters, in their reports from the war zone would report with alacrity, the seeming accuracy of the cruise missile in finding its intended target and how it seemed to save the lives of the troops on the ground as there were none around. From a 1.9 High School grade point average to Cornell University:   Three years ago, a guidance counselor told Kevin Sergeon he was not college material and suggested he consider vocational training. He had just graduated high school with a 1.9 grade point average.This week, Sergeon proved the counselor wrong, graduating with  honors from  College & being accepted accepted to Cornell University.

John Stossel, a Fox News contributor and business anchor, said Thursday that a central piece of the Civil Rights Act should be repealed - the part that says businesses that serve the public can't discriminate on the basis of race.

GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul has made similar comments, but Stossel took things a step further and suggested we do away with legislation that ensures that segregation is outlawed in all areas of public life. Voters can opt against Rand Paul on Election Day, but Stossel's backwards and hateful ideas have the support of a supposed news network.

Mayor: Detroit doesn't know how to stop the killings

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing said Thursday the city has no answer to the recent spike in violence that has left at least 12 people dead, including a patrolman, two teenage boys, a grandmother, the adult son of another police officer, and a 7-year-old girl.
