Sarah Palin paid to look good

Posted by bamgibbs in Untagged

Today everyone was talking about the $150,000 spent by the Republican National Committee to give Sarah Palin a makeover. Her makeover included a $50,000 shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue and a $75,000 baby boomer diva trip to Neiman Marcus. According to reports, she also bought her children and husband lavish outfits as well. She continues to receive an $18,000 clothing allowance per week until the campaign is over. After that, her hand-me-downs will be donated to charity.

People I talked to were outraged over this action by the RNC. They couldn’t understand how Sarah could portray

I'm Sick of Joe the Plumber

Posted by bamgibbs in Untagged

The most famous person in America is not JOE-Mama.  It’s Joe the Plumber.  As soon as presidential hopeful Barack Obama mentioned his name during the last debate, opponent John McCain grabbed hold of it like a pit bull and wouldn’t let up.

Joe the Plumber became the voice for every hard-working “wanna be self-employed” man in America. Senator Barrack Obama’s bid for the presidency got a huge shot in the arm today when Former Secretary of State Colin Powell came out and publicly endorsed him.

During an interview on Meet the Press, General Powell told Tom Brokaw he admired and respected fellow Republican John McCain, however, he is troubled by what the extreme right of the Republican Party is doing with the campaign.

The extreme right has created a divisiveness under the disguise of their slogan, Country First.  All you have to do is look at the McCain-Palin rallies to see their lack of inclusiveness.

Parents: Help Me Raise My Grandchild

Posted by bamgibbs in Untagged

This is an urgent plea to parents everywhere.  I really need your help in raising my grandson.

I have been spending the last year of Jarod’s two-year-old life teaching him manners and respect.  He knows to say “Thank you” when you give him something or do something nice for him.  He is learning how to say “Yes ma’am/No sir” as a show of respect for his elders.  He gives generous hugs to family members and his daycare friends and will even try to console you if he senses you are sad.  He can even say “excuse me” if he bumps you accidentally or walks in front of you.

But the problem

For those of you who are confused about Sarah Palin

Posted by bamgibbs in Untagged

I'm a little confused so let me see if I have this atraight...

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."

Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.

If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

Graduate from Harvard law School and you're unstable.

Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black
