Research by the National Black Justice Coalition shows that African Americans as a whole strongly oppose gay marriage. The American Medical Association has apologized to African American Doctors for racist policies it had in the past. These policies limited it's membership to whites only. This hurt black doctors since many hospitals would only hire members of a medical association.
