NFL Legend Jim Brown who has taken many a stand on social and racial issues while he was playing is not to happy to Tiger's Woods response to Kelly Tilghman's lynching comments. He believes that Tiger has a RESPSONSIBILTY to speak out more than he does on social and racial issues. That silly Jim Brown, why does he want Tiger to take a chance messing up his endorsement deals just to do something foolish like taking a stand. Oh that silly Jim. In some very sad news the African American book chain Karibu Books is shutting down. The Washington based retailer will be closing it's five stores. Ironically the rise of black authors or more importantly the sales they now generate hurt niche stores such as Karibu Books. Because of those sales numbers major retail chains and discount stores began to carry the books making them much more available to the public and are able to sell them at a discount. On January 25, 1966, Constance Baker Motley Became America's First Black Female Federal Judge, After Being Appointed To The U.S. District Court For Southern New York, By President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Motley Also Made History In Other Ways. In 1964 She Was The First Black Woman To Win A Seat In The New York State Senate And The Following Year She Became Manhattan's First Female Borough President.
Born In Connecticut On Septemer 14, 1921, Motley Received Her Law Degree From Columbia University. She Worked As A Civil Rights Lawyer For The NAACP, From 1954 To
