I'm reminded of the words someone spoke over us as a people. They declared it was easy to hide anything from blacks by placing it inside of a book. They were alluding to the ideaology that blacks don't read and so therefore the safest place for great secrets can be hidden within pages - masked behind the great paperback.
In my community I go on outreach excursions. I talk to parents. I see children. I see women and men alike who simply do not believe that books are an important tool to shaping the minds of our children. Their priorities are mismanaged buying bags of haircare

NFL Legend Jim Brown who has taken many a stand on social and racial issues while he was playing is not to happy to Tiger's Woods response to Kelly Tilghman's lynching comments. He believes that Tiger has a RESPSONSIBILTY to speak out more than he does on social and racial issues. That silly Jim Brown, why does he want Tiger to take a chance messing up his endorsement deals just to do something foolish like taking a stand. Oh that silly Jim. Because of those sales numbers major retail chains and discount stores began to carry the books making them much more available to the public and are able to sell them at a discount. While this started as a drive to get cases of missing African American Women and other women of color more air time on cable and news it is now a mission to get missing women of every ethnic group, race, or religion more air time by asking Cable Stations to devote just 30 seconds of air time per hour to the story of a missing woman.
