BLACK IN TIME: A Moment In Our History

                           Sojourner Truth:

On November 26, 1883, Sojourner Truth Died In Battle Creek, Michigan.

She Was Born A Slave In Ulster, New York And Given The Name Isabella Baumfree. She Freed Herself And Became A Self-Styled Minister And Dynamic Orator.

In 1843 She began Traveling Around The Country Delivering  Strong Messages Agaisnt  Slavery And  For Women's Rights. She Adopted The Name Sojourner Truth Based On What She Said Was God's Purpose For Her To "Travel Up And Down The Land And Declare Truth To People."

In 1852 She Earned Respect And A Place In

10,000 black men begin protecting Philadelphia

Earlier this year Philadelphia police commissioner Sylvester M. Johnson asked for 10,000 black men to step up and help keep the streets of Philadelphia safe. Baseball asterisk should start with pre black era

Now first off baseball will not put a asterisk on any of Barry Bond's records because it would mean putting asterisk all over the steroid era.

But if baseball wants to start putting asterisk on records it might want to start with the pre black era. Due to segregation the best players whether they were black or white did not play against each other.

If many black players had been allowed in sooner Babe Ruth would not be the home run champ and Bary Bonds would still have a long way to go as Josh Gibson hit 962 home runs. Even the single season wins by a pitcher record would change as
