William C. Handy:
William Christopher Handy, The Man Known As The Father Of The Blues," Was Born November 16, 1873, In Florence, Alabama.
He Published "Memphis Blues" On September 27, 1912, And Gave The World Its First Uniquely African American Music Form.
Handy Was A Trained Musician Who Made Blues Music More "Respectable" And Mainstream. Traditionally It Had Been Heard In Brothels, Saloons Train Yards And The Back Streets Of The Mississippi Delta.
And While He Did Not Invent Blues Music, He Was The First To Make It Comtemporary, By Notating And Putting It To Sheet

Steven Jennings an online activist sent a "threat" to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and then later forwarded it to Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III. The threat was not what you think though. Hi this is George Cook of www.letstalkhonestluy.com and I am sure that by now you have all heard the false allegations that Mychal Bell's father, Marcus Jones made on Michael Baisden's radio show against online activist group Color of Change. What you may not know is how those allegations hurt all black online activist including black bloggers and web site owners who have strived for credibility and respectability. Dr. Daniel Hale Williams:
Dr. Daniel Hale Williams Founded Freedman's Hospital School Of Nursing, On November 15, 1894.
The School Became A Part Of Howard University In 1969 And Had Graduated 1,700 Nurses Before It Closed In 1973.
In 1891, Williams Opened Chicago's Provident Hospital. For The First Time There Was A Facility Specifically Established To Formally Train Black Women To Become Nurses. Provident Was Also The Nation's First Interracial Hospital.
Dr. Williams Made History On July 9, 1893, When He Performed The First Successful Open Heart Surgery On Record. He
