Monday night in a case that is still being sorted out the NYPD shot at a young black man Khiel Coppin 20 times hitting him 10 times and killing him believing a hair brush he had was a gun. On November 13, 1985, New York Mets Pitcher, Dwight "Dr. K" Gooden, Won The Cy Young Award , A Few Days Before His 21st Birthday And After Only Two Seasons In The Major Leagues.At The Time, Gooden Was The Youngest Pitcher To Ever Win The Award.
The Cy Young Award Winner Is Determined By A Panel Of 24 Baseball Writers. Gooden Received A Unanimous 24 Votes.
During That Same Year, He Also Became The Youngest Player And Only The Seventh In History, To Sweep Baseball's Triple Crown --- Highest Number Of Wins (24 Games), Strikeouts (268) And Lowest Earned Run
