Now I love what Oprah is doing for these young women in South Africa and I wish she could do the same thing here in the U.S. so this is not Oprah Bashing but I do believe that the secrecy surrounding what goes on in her school is part of the reason why these reports and allegations keep surfacing. CUT is a diamond’s most important characteristic. It refers to well its facets reflect light. When a diamond is cut to deeply, light seeps out the side; an overly shallow cut drains the light from the bottom. An “ideal cut,” which results in blinding brilliance, is the most coveted and expensive.
COLOR is rated on a scale from D-Z. D-grade diamonds has absolutely no nitrogen, and the lower you move down the scale towards Z, the more nitrogen is present which brings along a warmer color of yellow and brown body tone. No color grade is BAD; it all depends on personal taste and metal colors
