On September 21, 1998, One Of Track And Field's Most Dynamic Stars, Florence Griffith Joyner, Died From A Seizure While Sleeping In Her Home, In Mission Viejo, California. She Was 38 Years Old.

Known To The World As "Flo-Jo," Joyner Was A Triple Medalist At The 1988 Olympics In Seoul, South Korea, Where She Smashed The Records For The 100 And 200-Meter Runs. She Also Won A Gold Medal Anchoring The U.S. 4x100

On September 20, 1664, Maryland Passed The First Amalgamation Law. This Was Intnded To Prevent English Men From Marrying African Women.

Interracial Marriage Was A Fairly Common Practice During The Colonial Era Among White Indentured Servants And Black Slaves --- As Well As In More Aristocratic Circles.
