An all-white jury in the central Louisiana town of Jena swiftly convicted a black teenager Thursday for attacking a white student in an incident that capped months of racial unrest and attracted the scrutiny of civil rights leaders concerned about the application of justice in the town. They convicted the teen although the prosecution's witnesses was all over the place ranging from one witness saying the attack was from the front, another said the attack was from the back, to witnesses who couldn't even put the accused at the scene. The Daughter Of Former Slaves (Samuel And Patsy McLeod), Mary Bethune Was Born July 10, 1875, In Mayesville, South Carolina. She Was One Of 17 Children.

Gone are the days of Martin Luther King, Malcom X, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass...but are they? Aren't their hopes and dreams dormant living in us yearning to come out. We live in a world replete with self-interest slogans-"Army of One", "My Life", "WWE", etc. Instead of calling and behaving as brothers and sisters, we call can behave as "dogs" and "hoes".
