The traditional wisdom of go to school, get a good education and get a good paying job with a good company is DEAD.

So much has changed from 30 to 40 years ago. Back then the corporations said, "We'll always be here and take care of you. Stay loyal to us and we will give you medical benefits and take care of your retirement."

Every year we have seen those promises

 

Can you feel it? The feeling of Fear is sweeping across the Country.

 

Anxiety has consumed millions of people in America. Everyone appears to be pinching pennies and getting rid of the habits of reckless spending.

 

It has become extremely difficult to get a loan from the bank, even with A Credit. The bankers are getting prepared for a massive economic downturn.

 

Those who are considered sophisticated investors are pulling their money out of hedge funds; they are dumping their mutual funds and moving their money to safety.

 

It is very interesting to see the established media beginning to shout

Wow! It has been since July that I have written on Izania! I can't believe it. That must mean that business is doing good or I don't have a life.

 I must say that I have been working diligently with a local women's ministry and trying to get past my church's women's day event. (which is this weekend) Ladies and gentlemen, I am wore out.

So to play catch up:

My oldest son start high school at one of the IB schools (preparing for college schools) they are strict on who gets in. So, he's there and playing football AGAIN. We have been a football family with him since he was 6.

I know it is hard to not to be totally on edge when
things are challenging economically. Especially with
your business and personal life at stake.

Believe me I can feel your pain. Recently I have
faced some of the most challenging issues in my
life time (this recession pales in comparison).

One year ago, Barack Obama's advisors told him that the high road to Washington was going to cost him the nomination.  They said that he needed a tough attack to defeat Hillary Clinton and the other more experienced challengers for the Democratic nomination.  He stuck to his faith in the "audacity of hope" and crafted a campaign built on "change we can believe in."

Don't believe the Hype.

Politics is a game of deception and hype.  At the end of the day, our political leaders have to come to grips with reality, and the hard work of political leadeship involves thoughtful collaboration and compromise to solve the issues of the day.  The work of the President, particularly, is complex and quickly moves beyond the soundbytes of the campaign.

Here is  the latest insight.  How do we distinguish between substance and hype?  Last week, the Republicans were filling arenas based on hype -- lipstick on pigs and pitbulls; reformers and mavericks; country first before
