We Have a Black Prez, Now Do You Believe in the USA?

I have to admit something here.  Yes, I voted for Barack Obama and yes I fully believe in his ability to lead this country.  Further prior to election day I believed Barack Obama would win fair and square.  However, I didn't believe that today we'd be celebrating this historic, monumental victory.  To be honest, I was prepared for an even bigger fight.  I thought today and the next few days would be spent recounting votes, investigating fraudulent voting activities on and on and on...

Ultimately I believed in President-elect Obama, but I had no faith whatsoever in this country. None. Even as I

It is really interesting to see how Barak Obama is being framed by the media and political pundits at this convention.  For me, this demonsrates just how difficult it is to move towad a post racist society.  In spite of so many indicators that validate his success in leading the change so desparately  eeded in thi country, there are continuing questions that ask, "Do we really know this candidate?"

Michelle Obama and Ted Kennedy were inspirational last evening.  But the continued commentary remarks about how the voters "don't know Barack Obama or Michelle Obama" are red herrings.  Black people

Photos - My Fundraising For Obama at a Rustic Florida Farmers/Flea Market

Elections will be in less than 100 days! To help me reach my fundraising goals I am supplementing my online fundraising for Obama for America with offline activities, most recently at a produce and flea market.  Many flea market goers are looking for necessities at the dirt cheap prices.

But I thought it was still a good idea to get out and set up a table at rustic Lakeland Farmers & Flea Market to reach more people offline.  Customers who made a donation received one of my handmade items created for fundraising.

Flyers (including one in spanish) on Barack Obama's positions on key issues were

Hillary, Racism and the Media... Oh My

About a week ago I was reading an online article. It was an investigative report by two Black writers, David A. Love and Peter Gamble. It was credible with good sources. When I read it and read the source links (to the New York Times, Time Magazine, and Southern Poverty Law Center and the KKK-supporting group in question, The United Daughters of the Confederacy) included within the article as well as the photocopies of the documents in question, I was appalled and outraged!

I was so angry because every day. for the past several weeks, America (and the world) has been bombarded with news
