I have to admit something here. Yes, I voted for Barack Obama and yes I fully believe in his ability to lead this country. Further prior to election day I believed Barack Obama would win fair and square. However, I didn't believe that today we'd be celebrating this historic, monumental victory. It is really interesting to see how Barak Obama is being framed by the media and political pundits at this convention. For me, this demonsrates just how difficult it is to move towad a post racist society. In spite of so many indicators that validate his success in leading the change so desparately eeded in thi country, there are continuing questions that ask, "Do we really know this candidate?" Elections will be in less than 100 days! To help me reach my fundraising goals I am supplementing my online fundraising for Obama for America with offline activities, most recently at a produce and flea market. Many flea market goers are looking for necessities at the dirt cheap prices. But I thought it was still a good idea to get out and set up a table at rustic Lakeland Farmers & Flea Market to reach more people offline. About a week ago I was reading an online article. It was an investigative report by two Black writers, David A. Love and Peter Gamble. It was credible with good sources. When I read it and read the source links (to the New York Times, Time Magazine, and Southern Poverty Law Center and the KKK-supporting group in question, The United Daughters of the Confederacy) included within the article as well as the photocopies of the documents in question, I was appalled and outraged!
