OMG, it’s time to get that sexy back, to fit into that cute little swimsuit, or just start that journey to becoming healthier and fit, but for some of us, our hair is hindering our progress. Many women spend a lot of time and/or money on their hair, so they may forgo this essential part of life. Below are some tips, styles and products that will help you stay cute while getting fit.

Natural hair can be a little tricky, especially if you don’t have wash-n-go curly hair, like me.

My number one, go-to style is braid extensions because they are low maintenance and double as a protective

Many women desire to have longer hair, especially African American women, but are convinced it's just not in the cards for them. Reality is that with a little information and some extra TLC, an additional inch or even an additional 10 inches of hair growth, is very possible.

On average hair grows approximately .5" per month; give or take. This includes African Americans as well. Hair has a growing phase of 2-6 years; so if hair is given optimal care, ideally, the person with the shortest hair will have 12" of growth, which isn't bad. But the average person doesn't have the shortest growth

So let's talk about this sweet, sticky substance for a moment!  When most people think of honey, they think of it as something to add to tea, on toast, or as an ingredient in a favorite dish, but when I think of honey, the first thing that comes to mind is goodness for my hair and skin! Why you ask, because I've done some research and I've found that honey has some amazing benefits, and after using it, my hair, scalp and skin has thanked me repeatedly!

I live in Michigan where it gets really cold. As the weather changes so does our  wardrobes, driving conditions and you hair regimen should change as well. If you were lax in your hair care during the warmer months, you may have survived with minor damage, but if you do not take some serious precautions during the colder, dryer months, come Spring, you will definitely regret it and your hair will be upset with you.

Winter months in cold regions can wreak havoc on your hair, it's very important to choose low maintenance styles so that you do not have to comb or brush often. It's also a great

When I was twenty years old, I suffered severe hair loss and damage due to an allergic reaction to a hair care product. Devastated, I decided to wage war against my hair loss. I tirelessly researched ways to grow my hair back longer stronger and healthier.  In the battle, I discovered priceless information such as which ingredients were harmful to hair growth; techniques to minimize breakage; how to detect hair issues such as follicle disorders, illnesses and other problems that may impede hair growth; tips to manage and care for the hair; and many other essential tools in order to grow

Did you know that many women thought to suffer from heredity hair loss are actually suffering from inheriting bad habits and damaging practices? Habits, good and bad, are passed on from generation to generation the same way traditions are. Many years ago hair pomades and hair grease was introduced to our grandparents as the best thing since sliced bread; we also fell in love with the bone straight look relaxers offered us. In gravitating towards these "solutions" to our hair "problems", we forgot to do the research on the ingredients found in them.

Many ingredients in our hair products such as

It's almost time for school for many kids (my daughter is already into her second week). If your daughter is anything like mine, she stayed in the pool and was shuttled from one camp or activity to another all summer long and if you are anything like me, you couldn't keep up with washing it and re-doing it each time. Some days I just washed her hair with the twist or braids still in it, some days I co-washed it, and other days, I am ashamed to say, I just rinsed it with cool water, sprayed it with Growth spray, and pulled it back into a ponytail with Wisdom heavy moisturizer.
