Winning the Future for Black America

I have observed two extremes for Black America recently. 

At the lowest extreme, there are indicators of poverty, high school dropout reates, single parent households headed by women, incarceration rates for Black males, unemployment at devastating levels.

At the other extreme is the growth rate of Black businesses (3 times the national rate), a record number of Black elected officals, middle class Blacks in key positions in government and industry (not in high numbers, but access to leadership, wealth and power), the very wealthiest of Black Americans doing well and thriving (i.e., Oprah, Bob

Black Change in A New Decade

 Take a minute to examine what real change would like as we move into the second decade of the 21st century. Remember President Obama's campaign new year fireworks "keyword" -- CHANGE!  Strategic political moves are being made to engineer his re-election campaign. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is leaving the White House to work as outside consultant (salary not disclosed). Rahm Emmanuel is running for Mayor of Chicago. David Axelrod will also be leaving Washington to set up the Chicago-arm of the Obama re-election campaign. But what about you and Black America? What has changed?
