ABOUT THE EVENT

The 19th Annual Pomona Valley Juneteenth Family Jazz Festival is celebrating the California Juneteenth National Freedom Day Observance celebrated every Third Saturday in June!  Join hundreds of other attendees in food, fun and festivities!  The event will feature live jazz entertainment with featured artists.  Enjoy shopping in the Juneteenth Marketplace and visit with organizations offering information and opportunities for the community. Vendors with great southern traditional food including Barbeque, Catfish & Shrimp, Hot Dogs, and Desserts will also be available.  Special activities for everyone go on throughout the day.  Admission is free and open to the public.

The Pomona Valley Family Juneteenth Celebration will be at Ganesha Park in the City of Pomona at 1575 North White Avenue, across from the Pomona Fairplex Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 21st, 2008 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM.

“Juneteenth”, or June 19th, is a traditional American celebration of freedom, which originated in Galveston, Texas and has been celebrated for over 140 years. The celebration has spread nationwide and is acknowledged in many states, including California since 2002.
