Kamit Fest 2008: An Afro-centric Family Super Event Print

On Saturday October 25th and Sunday October 26st The Ausar Auset Society invites you to Kamit Fest, their ninth annual celebration of African culture. Both days will be filled with fresh, afro-ce ntric talent and entertainment including headline acts KowTeff African Dance Company and the Asase Yaa African Dancers and Drummers.
Bring the whole family, Kamit Fest has an activity for everyone to enjoy.
Workshops not to be missed include:

·         The Het-Heru Healing Dance – a dance of sisterhood and healing led by Queen Mother Maasht-Amm.
·         Meditation workshop – Learn how to make the eleven hidden powers of the spirit work in harmony to achieve success in all areas of your life.
·         QiQong Workshop – Experience how ancient Chinese movements can heal the body, spirit and mind.
·         Kamitic Astrology – Discover the behavioral tendencies that you need to develop or overcome to pre pare for upcoming events in your life.
 
Special Dance classes:

·         Master Guinea African Dance
·         Belly Dance
 
Entertainment for the young and younger starts at 7pm both days. (Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 yrs):

Pamper yourself all day both days:

·         Spiritual readings – Gain insight into how to resolve the problems in your life.
·         Massages – from head to toe.
·         Wellness services – facial acupuncture, reflexology and more.
 
Children’s fun and activities with an afro-centric flavor:
Nintendo Wii game room, Arts and crafts, Face Painting, Story Telling and drumming class.
 
You can also shop for African and special interest books, CDs, DVDs and novelty including new books by Ra Un Nefer Amen in the Taui Gift shop. Then treat your palate with delicious vegan cuisine, fruit smoothies and sandwiches in the Tchefa Café.
 
Remember to buy a raffle ticket (or two) for a chance to win a trip 4-day, 3-night cruise. Somebody will leave Kamit Fest a winner. And, don’t forget your business cards because Kamit Fest will be a major networking opportunity!
