| How do I list an item for sale at iZania Market? |
Selling at iZania Market is an easy process and basic listings are FREE! (Including options such as listing in multiple categories, uploading up to 5 pictures, Reserve Price listings, Fixed Price [Buy Now] listings, and Dutch Auctions.) Here is a detailed description of the steps to complete to list an item:- Login to iZania Market. Login using your iZania Market ID and Password. If you do not already have an ID, click here to register.
- Go to the iZania Market Sell form by clicking SELL at the top of any iZania Market page.
- There are 7 easy steps to complete the Sell form. The process is self-explanatory, however, if you need assistance, each step is described in detail below:
For iZania Market Store subscribers: After clicking SELL, you will first be asked where you would like to list the item. You have 3 choices:
Auction - This is the main area of iZania Market where most items are listed and categorized. Items listed here may also appear on the homepage as Featured Auctions. The item DOES NOT have to be an auction-style listing to be in this area -- it can also be a Buy Now listing
Store - Items listed here will ONLY appear in your store.
Both - Items listed here will appear in both the main auction area and in your store. This is the best option to get maximum exposure.
Next is Step 1 for everyone:
- Select a Category. Select the Main Category that your item fits into best. Then, going from left to right, down the page, select from the available subcategories that your item best fits into until presented with the message "----Category Selected - Click Next----". Then click the Next Step button to continue to Step 2.
- Select a Second Category. If your item fits into more than one category, you now have the opportunity to add your listing to a second category. TIP: Listing in 2 categories will give your listing more exposure. Follow the same process from Step 1 again and then click the Next Step button to continue. Otherwise, if you don't want to add a second category, click "No Thanks, I do Not Want To List In A Second Category! -- NEXT STEP -->".
- Item Details. Write a good item name and description. Buyers will find your listing by its title, so make sure it is clear and descriptive. Likewise your description should include all relevant details and clearly describe your item. TIP: The easy-to-use toolbar can jazz up your listing through the addition of fonts, colors, graphics, and other formatting options. It is similar to using the toolbar in MS Word:

Auction Settings. Here you will set the main settings for your listing:
- Auction Type - Use Dutch Auction if you have 2 or more identical items to list (ie: 10 identical books).
- Auction Currency - iZania Market requires that Sellers list their items in U.S. Dollars (USD).
- Items Quantity - Automatically set to 1, unless Auction Type is Dutch Auction. For a Dutch Auction, enter the number of items you have for sale.
- Auction Starts at - Enter the price from which bidding will start. This also represents the lowest price you are willing to sell your item (unless you set a Reserve Price). **NOTE: If you want to sell an item ONLY at a set price, make the Auction Starts at price equal to the BUY NOW price set below.**
- Reserve Price - OPTIONAL - A reserve price is the lowest price at which the Seller is willing to sell an item. Through the course of the auction, if Bidders do not meet that price, the Seller is not obligated to sell the item. The Reserve Price is not disclosed to Bidders, but the listing does inform Bidders that there is a Reserve Price and whether it has been met or not.
- BUY NOW - OPTIONAL - The price at which the Seller is willing to immediately sell their item and close the listing. Using Buy Now is convenient for Buyers and gives Sellers the opportunity to sell items fast. (If you have a Dutch Auction, after each successful Buy Now transaction, the listing will remain open and the Item Quantity will decrease by one item until all items are sold.)
- Bid Increment - The amount by which a Bidder must increase their bid over the current high bid. Sellers can use the built-in iZania Market bid increment system, or specify their own custom bid increment in US Dollars in the form of 0.00.
- Feature Item - OPTIONAL ($) - These options provide a way to give your listings more exposure. NOTE: There is a minor fee associated with each of these options (click here for information on fees):
- Item Featured on Homepage - The listing and a thumbnail picture will be featured at the top of the iZania Market homepage in random rotation. These listings are also featured in the iZania Newsletter, that is distributed to over 4,000 subscribers each week, as space permits.
- Feature on Category Page - The listing and a thumbnail picture will be featured near the top of the Category pages for all the categories assigned to the listing.
- Bold Item - The Item Name will be displayed in a bold font.
- Highlighted Item - The Item Name will be highlighted in cyan.
- Start Time - Listings will start immediately or Sellers can schedule a Custom time at which their listing will become available in the future.
- Duration - Number of days Buyers will be able to actively bid on a listing. TIP: For Buy Now Only listings, select 30 Days to give your listing the greatest amount of exposure.
- Private Auction - Setting your listing as a Private Auction will keep the identity of Bidders hidden from the general public.
- Accept Swap Offers - Allows Buyers to submit offers of products and/or services in exchange for a Seller's listing. The Seller can accept or reject any Swap Offer. If a Swap Offer is accepted, there is a small swap fee that replaces the normal commission fee of when an item sells.
- Do you wish to restrict bidding on this auction only to members who have been PayPal verified? - Sellers can restrict there listings to members who have been PayPal Verified at iZania Market. PayPal verification helps to protect against fraudulent Bidders.
- Auction Images - OPTIONAL - Sellers can Upload one main picture to be featured with their listing and up to 5 additional Picture Gallery pictures that will be included in the details of the listing. Make note of the following:
- Acceptable image formats are .jpg, .gif, .png, and .img.
- The maximum size of a picture that can be uploaded is 150kb.
- Upload pictures from your computer by clicking the Browse button and locating the images on your system or;
- Enter the URL of the image(s) NOTE: leave out "http://". It is already included.
- Location - Country & Zip Code - The current location of the Seller.
- Shipping & Payment. - Set the shipment and payment options for the listing and review any iZania Market fees:
- Shipping Conditions - Set whether the Buyer or Seller pays for shipping expenses and whether you will ship internationally.
- Payment Methods - Click to check any and all payment methods you will accept for your listing
- PayPal Direct Payment Settings - OPTIONAL - If you have a PayPal account and would like to be paid via PayPal with a PayPal payment link appearing directly in your listing, enter your registered PayPal Email Address here. iZania Market is integrated with PayPal such that the Winning Buyer will have a direct link from your listing to pay for the item through PayPal. PayPal is the preferred method to accept payments from Buyers because of its ease of use and the additional levels of protection it provides.
- Postage Costs - OPTIONAL - Enter the amount the Buyer will be charged for shipping the item.
- Insurance - OPTIONAL - Enter any optional amount of insurance you suggest for shipping. NOTE: for PayPal Direct Payments, the Buyer will have the option to determine the amount of insurance they wish to add to their payment.
- Shipping & Payment Details - OPTIONAL - Enter any additional notes to Buyers regarding shipping and payment (ie: Refund Policy).
- Type of Service - Select the method of shipment that will be used.
- TOTAL SETUP FEES - This is the fee that will be charged to your iZania Market Account for your listing. Listing an item at iZania Market is free, however, there are fees associated with some OPTIONAL listing upgrades (ie: Item Featured on Homepage).
- End of Auction Commission Fee - ONLY when an item sells, Sellers are charged a minor commission fee for their listing, based on the Selling Price of the listing.
- Auction Preview. Here you have the opportunity to make a final review of your listing and all the settings you have chosen. If you want to make any changes, click the Previous Step button to go back and modify your listing. Otherwise, if you are satisfied, click the Submit button once and your listing will be submitted.
- Finish. A confirmation message will be displayed notifying you that your listing has been submitted successfully:
You're Done! The process seems lengthy, but can be completed quite quickly once you familiarize yourself with it.

| Can I place links to websites in the Description of my listing or on my iZania Market Store page? For example, can I link to my home page? |
No, you may not link to an external website in the Description of your listing or on your iZania Market Store page. Listings should only contain text, graphics and additional content relevant to the sale of the item listed. You are prohibited from linking to websites outside of iZania Market that offer goods or services for sale or trade.
However, a link can be used if it provides additional details about the item being listed and does not break any of the other previous conditions.
Listings that violate this policy will be edited and/or removed.
The reason for this policy is listings are to be used to describe the specific item for sale, and not for general business advertisements. iZania Market is designed to be a place where you can affordably sell products online and our Free Standard Listings and Store options help support this goal. We have other marketing resources available if your interest is in affordable business advertising. |
| Can I place contact information in the Description of my listing? |
| You may not use email addresses, addresses, phone numbers, or links in the Description of your listing. iZania Market has a built-in messaging system found within each listing -- ASK SELLER A QUESTION. This is the preferred safe way for Buyers to contact Sellers. Additionally, contact information between Buyers and Sellers is automatically exchanged at the completion of a sale. |
| How do I end my listing early? |
Sometimes something goes wrong and you can't complete your listing as planned. If needed, you can choose to end your listing before the scheduled date. If there are bids on your item, you can cancel them.
Note: Your account will still be charged listing fees (such as the Insertion Fee) if you end your listing early. Consider revising your listing first if there are aspects of it you want to change or improve.
Reasons for ending listings early include:
-The item is no longer available for sale.
-There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount.
-There was an error in the listing.
-The item was lost or broken.
Timing Matters
Canceling bids or making changes to a listing with bids when there are 24 hours or fewer remaining damages the buyer experience and can undermine trust in the market.
To end your auction early, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Members area of the site.
2. Select the Selling option.
3. If there are no bids on your item, you may remove your item from the auction.
4. Find your item in “Opened Auctions.” In the “Options” column, select “Remove.”
5. Choose Yes or No.
6. Now your listing will end and will no longer be displayed on iZania Market.
7. If there are bidders, you may not remove your listing.
Important reminder: Although there are legitimate reasons for ending a listing early, abuse of this option will be investigated. |
| What do I do after a successful sale? |
| The success of the iZania Market is directly related to the integrity of sellers and buyers. The sale isn’t complete until each person completes their part.
When your listing ends, contact your winning buyer through email within three business days. Let your buyer know the total price of the item, including your stated shipping costs, and how they can pay you. Offering PayPal allows your buyer to pay you quickly and easily.
Ship the item. After payment is received, send the item to the buyer's shipping address, specified with their payment or by email.
Leave feedback. After your successful sale, leave feedback for your buyer, and ask that they do the same. |
| How much does it cost to sell at iZania Market? |
| When you list an item at iZania Market, you're charged a Listing Fee. If the item sells, you are also charged an End of Auction Fee. The total cost of selling an item is the Listing Fee plus the End of Auction Fee. Goto to the Site Fees page to see a table of all fees. |
| How do I relist an Item? |
To relist an item, take the following steps:
- Login to your iZania Market account.
- Click on the Selling button in your Members Area.
- Scroll down the page to the "Closed Auctions" section.
- To Relist All Items:
- At the top of the Relist column, Click "All," which will automatically select all of your closed listings.
- Also in the Relist column, use the dropdown box to set/adjust the Auction Duration for each listing.
- Click the Make Changes button at the bottom of the Closed Auctions section to submit your relistings.
- To Relist Individual Items:
- Locate the listing(s) you want to relist. You can resort the list by clicking on the column headings (i.e: Item ID, Auction Name, Started, Ended).
- In the Relist column, click the Relist checkbox for the Item(s) you want to relist.
- Also in the Relist column, use the dropdown box to set/adjust the Auction Duration for the listing(s).
- Click the Make Changes button at the bottom of the Closed Auctions section to submit your relisting(s).
- To Modify a Listing and Resubmit It:
- Locate the listing you want to modify. You can resort the list by clicking on the column headings (i.e: Item ID, Auction Name, Started, Ended).
- In the Relist column, click the "Relist Similar" link that corresponds to the listing you want to modify.
- This will take you to Step #3 of the Sell An Item process, where you will be able to modify the original details of the listing.
- Use the Next Step button to step your way through the process and resubmit your listing.
Note: The same listing fees apply to relistings. |
| Why doesn't the picture from my listing display at Froogle.com or Google Base? It says, "image not available." |
| We made some system changes at iZania Market on January 25, 2006, to support the viewing of our pictures on Froogle. Any item that was originally listed prior to that date may not display its picture correctly at Froogle and Google Base. This includes the relisting of an item that was originally listed prior to January 25, 2006. To make the picture appear properly, either edit the listing and simply upload the picture again, or submit the item from scratch. |
