Default 3 Ways To Make and Keep Yourself Irreplaceable and In-Demand

New Economy Fact ... If You Can’t Make Yourself Irreplaceable (Or At Least Necessary) You’re In Danger of Getting Replaced or Ignored. Discover how to make your business, product or yourself irreplaceable and in demand.

One of the biggest assets to have today is the ability to make yourself irreplaceable and necessary. Unless you've been in a comma for the last 5 years you've seen the following example many times.

* You've seen people with many years of experience, education and talent laid off, demoted and even replaced in record numbers.

* You've seen customer loyalty shrink like a cheap suit.

* You've seen consumers change products faster than you can say "cheaper prices".

Even marriages are more disposable now than ever. Now it's normal to see husbands replacing wives and wives replacing husbands before the ink is dry on the marriage license.

There's many more examples I can name, but you get my point. New Economy Fact: If you can't make yourself irreplaceable (or at least necessary) you're in danger of getting replaced or totally ignored.

And that's no matter who you are or what you've done in the past. You can apply that to a job, business, product or yourself.

We now live in a "what have you done for me lately" world and the bar continues to rise. That means you can no longer rest on what you did years, months or even days ago.

Untold numbers of businesses and people who continue ignoring this reality will have a rude awakening. Don't let it happen to you. Prepare yourself now and stay ready, so you don't have to get ready.

Alarming? Intimidating? Maybe even scary? Yes, but only if you ignore the 3 powerful tips below.

Here's 3 simple but powerful tips to keep yourself irreplaceable, and in demand.

1. Practice Doing What Others Don't Like To Do.
Here's one of the quickest ways to make yourself irreplaceable or in demand. Make it your goal to find out what others don't like to do ... and do it.

If you're an employee, find out what other people you work with don't like to do and volunteer to do it.

In a short amount of time, you'll find your bosses noticing. They'll quietly grow to depend on you more than others. That's called job security.

If you own a business or sell a product, research your competition and find out what they don't like to do.

The next step is to start doing it for your customers. That's a powerful and low cost way to stand out from the competition.

This tip works especially well if you're in a competitive market. It could make the difference between profit and loss.

2. Practice Being More Adaptable, Adjustable and Flexible.

The businesses and people who refuse to be flexible, adaptable and adjustable will go the way of the dinosaur.

One of the hardest things for people to do is to adapt to change. Change can bring discomfort or opportunity depending on how prepared you are.

Notice how uncomfortable, irritated or even angry people will get when things change. Those who can adapt to change will grow and those who can't will fall behind.

You'll start seeing change as an opportunity instead of an obstacle by following these tips.

Here's how to be more adaptable, adjustable and flexible to change.

A. Practice keeping an open mind.
For example, try different foods, drive a different way to work, try a new restaurant, listen to different music. Try new things.

B. Avoid rut thinking.
This means don't let yourself get comfortable with too much comfort.
* Challenge yourself to change.
* Challenge yourself to try a different way.
* Challenge yourself to grow.

C. Get a role model or examples to follow.

Find someone who you see as adaptable, flexible or adjustable and try to adopt some of their habits.

If you can't find someone read books about people who have their traits. Hint: People who have overcome great odds normally possess those traits.

3. Practice Doing or Giving A Little More Than Others Expect.

Now everyone and his dog continues to look for ways to cut back, down size or give less. Right? So, if you can find ways to do or give a little more than others expect, do you think people would notice? Of course they would.

That's why it shocks me at how many people ignore this simple principle. But then again maybe that's why it's so easy to overlook, because it's so simple.

But don't let it's simplicity blind you to it's power. Because so few people do it, you'll stand out like a steak at a dog show. So, get in the habit of finding ways to give a little extra and you'll find yourself in demand more.

By following these powerful tips you'll take big strides to always making and keeping yourself irreplaceable and in demand.

Thumbs up Re: 3 Ways To Make and Keep Yourself Irreplaceable and In-Demand

This is a great article, with advice worth following. Our success will always depend more on our "value to others" than anything else. Increasing our value to others is a formula for life-long success.

Default Re: 3 Ways To Make and Keep Yourself Irreplaceable and In-Demand

Indeed. As a race we've managed to make ourselves irreplaceable and in demand when it comes to sports, entertainment and Civil Rights issues. Things the world continues to take notice of (and envy).

Now, the next frontier is business and commerce. Stay tuned
