President Barack Obama should specifically address disparities in black unemployment, foreclosures, education and health care, the National Urban League says in its annual "State of Black America" report.

President Obama has already addressed issues specifically pertaining to the black community and black organizations. He told the black man to stand up and be fathers. He told black people to accept responsibilty and to go back to school.

Last but not least he told black organizations that he is done with marching signaling an end to ineffective strategies and ushering in defined intelligence.

However judging from your question and poll it is apparent that African Americans and black organizations only hear what they want to hear.

One of the greatest arguments within the black community is whether we should continue to look to government to answer our problems. Obama has made it clear that he is the President of the non-blacks.

How can you put on the table a argument of Blacks need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps but GM needs assistance to recover from bad management. What this country should do and what it will do (regardless of its President) has always been in the hands of the individual.

While a completely disagree with the less learned argument that claims there is something wrong with the black community, I do believe that overcomming the challenges faced by the final 24% in poverty will take new and creative strategies.
