The most simple way to improve your credit score is to pay your debt on time. On time as far as credit is concerned is within 30 days of the due date. A credit card or mortgage company may charge a fee after 10-15 days late but it is not reported to the credit agencies until you are 30 days or more late. Also credit card companies dont know what you earn, so one major gauge they use is how much of your available debt you have used. if you have a $10,000 credit limit and carry a balance of $8,500 every month you are using 85% of your available debt. you want to keep it below 50%. In the world of credit it is better to have $10,000 of available debt and owe $4,000 than it is to have two have $2,000 of available debt and owe $1,500. Again the credit agencies dont know how much you earn so the assumption is that if you are carrying a balance every month than you are not able to pay it off, so it looks better if you only owe 40% of what you have available than 75% of what you have available.I am a mortgage broker and I see credit reports everyday, there is not rhyne or reason to how credit is scored but if you know what they are looking for you have a better chance to improve your score.

Just wanted to add my two sense to this topic. Actually if you are not an Credit Repair expert this takes too long to learn. We can do much ourselves though our Credit is too sensistive and too important to leave to most of our hands. The credit agencies are established to drain us out and slow us down. We need power. The book by Lynnette Khallini is good. Get out of Debt I believe it is. I believe that my bookstore carries this at www.agoodbook.biz/hakiammi Also, for a more sophisticated means of getting your credit report handled check out my site again www.fdirep.com/Honorable This is a Financial solutions company.

It doesn't matter how much you earn or how much you have in the bank, what you need is a good credit rating/score.

Greetings,

Bro Sam, I'm with a company FDI/Financial Destinations, Inc that has done good work on folk credit scores all over the country. Go to my site www.fdirep.com/Honorable This is pardon self not totally black owned. They do have a few black faces in some high places though I found it to be a good representation of black folk in it.
