Racism and the effects of living in a racist society is the most common
reason given by many Black leaders for Black America’s economic
underdevelopment. This argument is no longer valid. Racism has, and
will be a part of the human condition for the foreseeable future. The
fight for civil rights has been won, and In today’s computer and
communications driven global economy, the world is open to all willing
to take the plunge.

Melvin J. Gravely, Ph.D The short answer is NO. Minority business
development has not been an economic development tool. At least not to
the extent it could be. It has been a good idea. It has been the right
thing to do. It does matter socially to communities. But it has been
underutilized as a tool for economic development.

Franne McNeal As a coach, I find that the mindset of the
entrepreneur makes the difference. Specifically, the way that
entrepreneurs look at situations, literally whether they view the
situation as a problem or opportunity, shapes the outcome of the
situation.
