My beef is that Hillary's tactics are more than what is allowed in a simple "intramural contest"between same party candidates, they are down right 'dirty-ticks' and I think unethical conduct; she needs to be called out to account for them to the party membership. She is negatively campaigning against a fellow democrat. When I heard that Drudge-Drudge Report- had released the picture of Obama in Somalian native dress and it came from Hillary's campaign people, I was thoroughly disgusted with the Clintons. It never has and it never will." You and I, and nearly every Black America (except Ward Connerly), know that he is fighting a battle on two fronts -- McCain and the Neo Cons, as well as the Clinton machine. In both cases, they will concede nothing. Only when he wins at the Democratic Convention will the party rally around him. I saw a commentary by Willie Brown, former mayor of San Francisco, last evening. He reminded us that this is an "intramural contest" for the Democratic Party. There will be no permanent damage done, regardless of who wins. Democrats have not lost sight of the ultimate goal to recapture the White House. It seems to me, that it is time to help take the focus off of Barack Obama’s friends-who are not running for the presidential nomination-and put it squarely were it belongs back on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s motives and her self interest that go beyond the democratic party and the people of these United States. Her plausible victory requires the disenfranchisement of yet another Black American, Obama an outcome that will not stand. He stayed in the race with a very credible explanation, and I believe he added some value to the Republican constituency that might not otherwise have sharpened its focus on how to unify the party. What is really different for the Democrats is this issue of Super Delegates. With the theoretical potential for shifts in their positions, there remains a plausible path to victory for Hillary Clinton. While I am a Barack Obama supporter, and would love for her to bow out, I think that the notion of not being a quitter is driving her to remain in the race. She certainly has more reason to hang in there than Mike Huckabee did. Finally, the mudslingers aren't finished yet with attempts to destroy Obama by any means necessary. They have tried to trip him up at the ankles and the shins. They are going for the knees now. There won't be much left for the Republicans to throw at him when he wins the nomination. The charges that they have against him are positions that the entire Democratic Party will rally to defend.
