| About Me: | I am a retired corporate business executive, and the founder of iZania -- a Virtual Black Community, connecting the descendants of Africa -- www.izania.com. Now that I am retired, I wake up MAD every day! My focus is entirely on how I can MAKE A DIFFERENCE among the People who are descendants of Africa. I have traveled to various parts of the world, and lived in South Africa for 3 years. I have seen the contributions of Black people, and our social conditions from several perspectives across The Diaspora. I am committed to engaging in activities with others who are interested in helping Black people act in our self-interests. This means that we should capitalize on our strengths, education, and heritage to overcome and reverse the damage caused by historical exploitation and racism. I believe we can only look to ourselves to find the leadership and strength to improve our condition -- wherever we find ourselves in the world. My company, iZania LLC, and website, www.izania.com, was established to "connect the people of Africa via the Internet." The Virtual Black Community is comprised of Black people with the capability to positively impact the condition of our people through the development of business initiatives that start with the smallest entrepreneur and evolve to strong economic communities. It is these strong economic communities that serve the social needs of our people -- education, health, housing, family stability, individual self-worth. The Internet affords us the opportunity to accelerate our business and economic progress by leveraging the strengths of The Diaspora for business success and community development. This will involve collaboration within "our virtual community" and negotiation with external entities. We must leverage political alliances, social networks, personal relationships, and community organizations -- in our self-interests. Frederick Douglass reminded us that "power concedes nothing without a demand," and the Virtual Black Community provides the opportunity for us to amass a strong position from which to demand a better economic and social outcome for Black communities all over the world. Amandla! |
