Trapped!

When you're working hard and nothing is coming in, you ask yourself what's the reason? Someone once told me that favor is not fair and to just be patient for my time will come. I'd already been an entrepreneurial success and wondered if I could do it again. When caught in the tunnel of trial and error exits are always positioned too far in either direction. Being trapped forces action to ooze from your intuition.

In a recent blog post ( http://www.dahgurl.com ) Shawn Mason Spence drafted an interesting piece that included a powerful one liner. She said, "I've thought about plenty, halfway implemented many, but nothing really stuck." Upon reading that phrase, I immediately conducted a team huddle... no sideline coach present. All by myself darting thru deep thought.

"Your eyes will adjust to the level of deficiency in your life" - Iyanla Vanzant. Could substitute confidence, efforts, networking, and passion, in place of "life." Vanzant was suggesting during her live presentation that many have become accustomed to the circumstances surrounding their existence. In a word -- comfortable.

"...I'm alone in this trial, I'm scared and out gunned but I'm right."  Rudy - the young attorney from the John Grisham movie The Rainmaker.

To those of you facing a major project, or end of the month goals, or a nefarious manager, or starting a new job, or the loss of a client, or non-supportive spouse, or a number of other situations ... remain active, alert and available to your potential.  By all means remain.

As the orange light intermittently blinked, I hurried to the phone because I knew it was Nadya.  She had just arrived in Florida with her brothers, my mother, and about seven assorted and tired relatives.  I call them all cousins...just easier...I’ll clean it up later.  She was so excited as she described the train ride from DC to Miami leaving out no details.  Forty five seconds later she was crying non-stop on the phone with her mother!  She missed her.  What had I missed I wondered?

Eye on the Prize

Sometimes a familiar story, with a twist, better makes the point. As five-year-old Sydnie entered the post office, she wanted to know why so many pictures of people were hanging on the wall. Her father responded, “Those are very bad people that the police want to find and catch immediately.” Puzzled, she glanced once again at the more than 30 images and tugged on her father’s shirt. Looking up to her father she said...give me 45 seconds and I’ll finish Sydnie’s statement.
