I was looking for a calendar that reflected who I was
and what was important to me. What I saw were
calendars that were marketed toward men, teenagers,
nothing that reflected who I was and how I saw myself
or my friends and family. The calendars of women of
color that I did find were always in some type of
ceremonial dress or costumes.
I wanted a calendar to reflect the woman I am and the
women I know and have known in my life. I took this
opportunity to present the side of us we all know
exists but is seldom portrayed or seen in the media.
In other words real women living real lives. Everyday
women living their lives every day. This is my tribute to
them and the lessons we have learned throughout
this journey of life.
This is about celebrating our beauty, the beauty we
share with our families, friends, neighbors and
coworkers help me celebrate them. Enjoy!
