Just enough....just in time!

Plausible in some professions. With unemployment at 5.7% and climbing, do you want to take that chance of finding out? I doubt it. Most remember that the last time unemployment was at 5.7% (December 2001), it held steady - at times even higher - for almost three complete years.

Ask anybody from IT to India, from Manufacturing to Michigan, how tough it was to secure meaningful employment where the compensation was commensurate to your skill level. Productive still the same. Right now the last thing you want to do is cut back on self development (SD).

SD in areas like administration of your agenda: servicing clients, not appearing desperate to prospective clients, willingness to collaborate, evaluating risk levels of new projects, preparing a better phase of discovery, following up after networking, bringing value to internal meetings, etc.

I know you do all of that already. Right. Which is why I'm asking you to share this piece with those in your circle that do not. I'm thinking, we all have a few friends and peers that do just enough...just in time and complain about all in between. Here's what I do know: It’s Monday — let's keep it moving!
